Trinity Church
Company Overview
Trinity is an orthodox, evangelical church anchored on the belief in historic Christianity as revealed in the Scriptures and summarized in the Apostles and Nicene Creeds. Trinity is a multigenerational church serving a congregation of around 750 with two campus sites in Virginia Beach. Our vibrant and growing church body exists to exalt the person of Jesus Christ in all that we say and do.
Company History
After many weeks of prayer, Trinity Church hosted its first service just before Easter in 2007. More than 100 people attended that first service, which was planned by a group of people in Virginia Beach with a commitment to God’s Word and a heart for their city.
In the days that followed, Trinity’s leadership spent time in prayer and Bible study , working to model the church after the biblical model found in the book of Acts. Trinity declared that it existed to “exalt the person of Jesus Christ in all that we say and do.” The church also affirmed its foundation upon the Anglican tradition and formed its elder-led model of leadership. From the start, Trinity also made a passionate commitment to missions-both locally and to the “four corners” of the world.
Real estate in a beach town is always at a premium, and zoning codes and fly zone restrictions made it particularly tough for Trinity to find a place to build a permanent home. But God had already provided. From the very beginning, God had a home for Trinity, only two blocks from the ocean. The Kingdom-minded First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach agreed to share their building with Trinity. Today, that location is known as Trinity’s Oceanfront Campus and as the host for Trinity’s offices and ministries.
As Trinity grew, so too did God’s vision for the church. In the fall of 2010, Trinity launched a second campus at the Westin Hotel in Town Center. That service started small, meeting in just one-third of the ballroom. Now, Trinity’s Town Center Campus uses the entire large ballroom and many ancillary rooms, reaching people living near the Town Center area.
Recently, God began to move again in the hearts of those in leadership at Trinity to start planning another site to reach those in the Princess Anne area of Virginia Beach. The first worship service there is scheduled for Spring 2015.
All of this is Trinity’s history. But multiple sites and growing attendance do not define Trinity Church. The core of who we are is found in our original vision to exalt Christ, our unchanging mission to make disciples, and in our complete dependence on God through prayer at every step of the way.
