Company Profile

First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown

Company Overview

Because we “are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God,” we are a church Declaring God’s Praise (1 Pet 2:9). Because “we proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom,” we are a church Developing Christlike Disciples (Col 1:28). So that our “faith might not rest on human wisdom,” we are a church Demonstrating the Spirit’s Power (1 Cor 2:4-5). And because Christ commands us to “go and make disciples of all nations,” we are a church Deploying Faithful Witnesses (Mt 28:18-20).
Our Senior Pastor often reminds us “the best gifts come wrapped in flesh.” His example challenges us to do all we do “whether in word or in deed in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Our vibrant church was founded in 1888 in a suburb of Philadelphia. We emphasize Christian education and are committed to “train up a child in the way he should go.” Christian education serves not only as a congregational ministry, but also as community outreach, through programs such as VBS and Preschool. Not long ago our church was called to minister to our community grieving the tragic loss of young lives. The blessing has been a renewed emphasis on ministry to teens and young people. Yet, we also offer study and fellowship for seniors, for men, for moms, for everyone. Our church encourages people, from cradle to grave, to grow in the knowledge of our Lord.
Music plays a key role in our church, complementing and reinforcing the Scriptural text. Internationally known youth, adult and bell choirs greatly enhance our worship, at our traditional Sunday morning services and our contemporary “New Creation” service offers a wide variety of music lead by our worship band, and both media and active prayer to compliment presentations of God’s ancient and unchanging truth in fresh, new ways. Our music program is a magnet to many in our community and beyond.
We honor our mission as a servant church to the local community and to “all nations.” Through mission trips and participation in local inter-faith ministries we serve the materially and spiritually underprivileged or support the world wide church where it is need of resources—both with our hands-on service and fiscal support. Through Stephen Ministry and other support groups we also serve the hurting in our own community and congregation.
