About Cody, Wyoming

Cody, Wyoming, is ranked as one of the best little towns in the US for families and has excellent schools. For a community its size, it has many amenities that range from a couple of great ski hills just an hour from town to an incredible recreation center, ice rink, regional hospital, and world-class museum, all within blocks of downtown. It's also home to world-class big game hunting and fishing in and around the nation's first national forest (Shoshone). The population is 10,000 in the winter, but with tourism and Yellowstone, it swells to nearly 20,000 in the summer. July 4th is the biggest day of the year for Cody, with festivities and patriotism on full display.
Cody Country is beautiful and vast in all directions and serves as the eastern gate to Yellowstone National Park. Cody sees itself as the rodeo capital of the world. Its identity and economy are built around the incredible outdoors, vast open spaces, and its historic western vibe. People who relocate here are moving for economic, family, and pace-of-life reasons, desiring to leave crowded spaces and the clamor of the city.

Company History

The Cody Alliance Story

Cody CMA began in 1962 when Huldah Quick had the vision to start a church and started a Bible Study in her living room. With the help of an Alliance radio evangelist from Greybull, the group found some momentum. After a year, we were formally incorporated as a church on July 17, 1963.
We outgrew Huldah's living room and began meeting at the Cody Clubroom. A few years later, we secured property and built our first facility on the corner of 14th Street and Stampede Ave. Over the years, the people found Jesus, and the church continued to grow. So many people joined over the years that we ended up meeting in the Cody Middle School commons while we built another facility (2004) and then added on again a few years later in our current location. We were able to construct both facilities with loads of volunteer labor from our church family.
We've had a number of pastors over the years—each one bringing a unique gift to make a unique contribution to our family. We've been blessed over the years. Today, Gary (and Lolly) Stenlund, our pastor from the late 1960s to the late70's, is one of our patriarchs and a vital part of our family.
Following a tough season in our family, we enlisted Randy Shaw in late 2020 as lead pastor to retool our ministries and help position us as a church for new impact as we courageously follow Jesus in our dark world as a family.
